    Corpus Christi??? WTF?

    Huge waste.

Put it to work out in the Big Bend area. Then you might actually do something with it.

They wouldn't need the ground crews if they armed the UAV's with a few hellfires...

I don't know how long it can stay airborn but, at 276 mph it can be over Big Bend in about two hours. Also, it may not stay at CC all the time.

Endurance is on the about 42 hours with external fuel tanks and a few weapons. Without any external stores, it is about 28 hours maximum. Basically the entire US is within range if you really wanted to operate all of the aircraft out of one centralized location.

i think those missiles are way overkill in price and results for idiots crossing the border. however i wonder how many would need to be used before people thought better of trying to cross the border?

The drones are used along the borders, does not mean they're based right along the border. Mainly to assist spotting drug activities and human trafficing. Typically based at airports or Military bases. However, they are not just flying along the southern border.

I didn't know North Dakota was being bombarded with illegal aliens. At least not enough to warrant 2 drones.

Not familiar with illegals heading that way but they have a big dope pipeline coming from North to South. Lots of the wacky weed (BC bud) coming in.
Just got out of a training class last week and they showed some cool vids of aerial smugglers on the northern border.

There are domestic and foreign terrorist training camps in the U.S. that these can be used to spy on. I am sure they will be used for many things besides drugs and illegals. Who knows, big brother may just want to buzz over and see that everything is okay in your neighborhood.

Thanks for posting the article. I am all for more use of drones along our boarder, the more aliens that can be stopped from entering the better.

These drones overfly the property of American citizens and surveil without warrant.

    Ban them.
