I am looking to buy myself a couple pairs of boots.
I want the new Oakley assualt boots for general purpose urban roaming.
But for trapsing around the english countryside, woodland and beach I need somthing warm, hard waring and waterproof, and CHEAP!
and also avalible in the UK :)
I have a pair of rubber wellie boots i use, but spending a day hunting in those is some endurance!
I was told the Danner Arcadia Insulated are good, but they are far to expensive, any other recomendations? I know theres no substitute for quality, But I'd rather have a pair of boots, then no boots!
    thanks!

I have worn lots of boots for both work and play. I have found the sober truth to be "you get what you pay for." Cheap boots are just that. Remember: "A cheap price is soon forgotten, wereas quality and satisfaction are long remembered."

I prefer Danners for hunting/hiking. I have a pair of Ft. Lewis boots that have served me VERY WELL for over 8 years. I buy Wolverine Durashocks for steel-toed work boots.

Another Danner Ft Lewis fan here. If you pro-rate the cost over the useful life of the boot, the Danners are a DEAL, and "cheaper" than the less expensive ones that wear-out in one or two seasons.

My first ones were "issued"; but now I happily pay for Danners when I need them...

I have found some boots that are slightly cheaper,
and have the mosst Oak camo pattern:
    Rocky Forager 8917 boots,
Dont know if they are avalible in the UK, but they are cheaper then the danner boots.

    any other suggestions?

    Thankyou for that Page,
it has alot of good stuff on it, I'll search around in the UK for some of the items on there.
I'm sure there must be some cheap pair of boots that rivials the expensive ones.
Theres always an underdog that costs half as much but is as good.

I never intended that to happen.;P

If you cant afford really good waterproof boots then look into getting yourself a good set of goretex socks and nylon sock liners. They will go a long way in making cheap boots warm and dry.

Last yr. I got a pair of Rocky Buckbusters & they are warm, dry and comfortable & not to heavy. I wore them from sunup to sundown and never found anything to complain about. Got mine new for around 75.00.;)

well, There was nothing at the Army/Navy Surplus Store.
Bought a pair of socks, and a hat.

I was having alook at the Danner Arcadias and they are classed as patrol boots, and I want hunting Boots.
Or are the Arcadia's Better then all the hunting boots anyway?

    One Other thing,
What Accesosies should I buy for my new pairs of boots and wellies?
Do i need any Nylon Sock liners, Gortex boot Socks, Neopreme inserts? Insoles? Etc.
