How many books do you keep "in reserve?" I always try to have at least 5 books on hand. Many times more when I volunteer at the library. Used hardcovers=$2 and paperbacks=$.75.

Usually at least five, but I just got about fifty books from someone who was "cleaning out the basement". Lots of first edition hardbacks, and I got to handpick them. I am well stocked for the summer!

Right now I have, I think, four books sitting and waiting. I work at a library so I have a habit of checking out too many books at once because I see so many i'd like to read.

I just finished The Last Assassin by Barry Eisler -which was pretty good - and started World War Z yesterday.

When I was in grad school I'd always have a big stack of nonfiction and fiction that I never had time to get to.
