    About 12 have died last Monday in a series of explosions in the country being claimed by Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) which is linked to Osama bin Laden’s Al-Qaeda network.

    Intelligence report earlier disclosed that planned terrorist offensive operations are to be carried-out by Muslim rebels who just completed their training somewhere in the Lanao area in Mindanao.

    According to the report from the intelligence community, the fresh graduate composed of more or less (50) elements of the very first batch of rebels suicide bombers from new and young recruits of the ASG were said rigorously trained by Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) bomb experts.

    That this group mission as anticipated is to conduct sporadic bombings within Metro Manila area, progressive areas in the Visayas region and some areas in Mindanao as part of their deployment targeting crowded places like malls, schools and churches, other soft targets are transport terminal and public utility vehicles including identified vital installations and commercial establishments in the locality in which drastic damage are expected if counter-measures not taken properly.
