About a year ago I bought a blue label Gen 4 G19, I wanted a Gen 3 but was told that all the blue label 9mm's were only available as Gen 4's now.... So I got it, and it sucked (which has been my experience with 3 different Gen 4 9mm's), so I ended up trading it in on a Gen 3 G34 that ran like a Glock should, but when the dust had settled I had ended up actually paying a little more than a regular non-LE Glock would have cost a non-LEO.

That said, my question is: was I fed some BS and are Gen 3 9mm's still available as blue labels..? I'd like to pick up a Gen 3 G17, but if I want a blue label, can I still get one..?

    Thanks in advance.

I just bought a 'blue label' Gen 3 Glock 26 from an IL LEO dealer. He said he had a bunch of 3's & 4's in stock. I ordered 3-4 weeks ago & received it soon afterwards.

My guess is that the third generation G19 will probably be about the last third generation to be discontinued. My guess is that just NYPD officers in a year probably buy more G19s than some manufacturers' total annual production of all guns.

I agree with the comments above, my friend just bought a Blue Label G19 and was also given the chioce of Gen 3 or Gen 4.

The shop also had Gen 3 G23 & G26 Blue Label in stock.

It's Glocks LE/Military/GSSF program. The gun is cheaper and comes with 3 high cap mags (full sized models) and regular mags for subcompacts.

As far as I am aware, Glock has no intentions of discontinuing Gen3 production, for the time being.

If they would discontinue the Gen 3 they would write off the California market as Gen 4s can't be sold in California.
