    Hey guys, anyone know of a method (preferably .htaccess?) of denying access from a country, specifically India, from accessing your website? I've got some jerk in India trying to rip off my site, and since it's a local business, I don't have any reason for India to see it anyway. I would greatly appreciate any help... It's not really a big deal, I just don't like the idea of someone copying the logos I paid good money to have designed.

    Thanks!

    Uhmm... Not sure what you mean by control panel... It's a godaddy host, so if you mean like a user control panel, yeah I suppose I do.

    I found an htaccess blocking generator, and this is what I just tacked onto my htaccess file:

    <Limit GET HEAD POST>
    order allow,deny
    deny from .in
    deny from airtelbroadband.in
    deny from mtnl.net.in
    deny from 122.169
    deny from 59.182
    deny from 59.93
    allow from all
    </LIMIT>

    That look like it will work? I'm hoping that those IP ranges are specifically for India and won't be used anywhere in North America -- or europe, for that matter...

    Thanks for the help guys!

    Shoot me a PM with your website address and I'll have my friend in India test it...

    You could conceivably block a casual user, but not a determined one. There are many anonymizing services out there that would allow someone from India to appear as if sitting in Germany. Or the US. Or a whole bunch of other places.
