My New Edge Pro Apex and Chosera water stones came in yesterday so I tried it out last night on a Buck Vantage and the results were sub par. Of course I had been out chasing hogs all day so I was fairly tired. The Buck came out sharp but it was nothing to look at. I decided to give it another go this morning and WOW, this thing is really cool. It took me about 2 hours to go from completely dull to mirror finished, TP slicing, Hair whittling edges on 2 knives. I did my ZT 0560 and my New Chinook II. ZT: The Spyderco And the results: Overall I am really impressed with this system. There is definitely a learning curve with it but it is pretty short. Both of these knives were sharpened to 10,000 grit Chosera water stones and stropped to a very very sharp edge. I have only gotten edges like this 1 or 2 other times in my life before I got the Edge Pro, and they didn't look as pretty. This system is definitely easier to use on blades that have big flats like the Chinook II. The ZT was a little harder to hold flat on the table since it has a swedge and high grind, but still very doable.
