I have the option to get a used (about 250 rounds through it total - from a friend) BL-22 Grade II or a H001T from a LGS.

If the cost were the same (which they are) which would you choose?

This will be my first/only lever 22lr.

I have a Henry H001, it is alright. I wish it was a Goldenboy, I would probably like it better.

I really want a BL-22. The action on them seem smooth as glass. Never had the pleasure of shooting one though.

I'm going with ede on this one.

I'm not knocking the Henry but the BL-22 is such a smooth little gun. I made the mistake of picking one up and cycling the action a few yrs ago and did not want to give it back to the nice man behind the counter. I ended up having to buy it and take it home. The Browning is a fantastic shooter. Regards,

    Nail

I've had a BL-22 for 30 years and it would be one of the last guns I'd ever get rid of.

Bought my BL-22 around 1971, about when it first appeared, if I recall correctly. Many thousands of rounds through it, and it's still my favorite rifle.

Good decision, you won't regret getting the BL-22. I've heard the Henry's are nice rifles, but I know the Browning is an excellent rifle. I've had mine about 15 years, lost count of the rounds down range.

I will certainly give a range report after I bring it to the range this weekend.

Looking at $300 for a grade II purchased about 20 years ago. Very little use, sound about right?

Henry's are great guns for the price, but if you can get a BL-22 or a Winchester 9422 for the same price, there is no need to even think about it. . Browning or Winchester all the way. .
