I've been looking for an 870 for a long time for HD.Had one when I was a teen but sold it to my brother. It's his HD now and he won't sell it back. The ones I've come across were expensive or in terrible shape.I figured it would cost an additiona l$80 or so to turn one into an 18 1/2 in" with an extended mag.

There was a gun show this weekend and I found a new H&R 1871,Parner Pump for $250 out the door. The "dealer" said H&R was bought out by Remington.Other than being a little heavy, the design was almost exactly like the 870.I got home fired a few rounds and was satisfied with the pattern.Soooooooooo ,today I was recording the serial no. for my records and realized that it was "MADE IN CHINA".Man that burns me up!!!!!!.Can't take it back, show is closed and gun has been shot.I really feel bad about a Chinese gun.Anyone have experiences wih this brand? I'll sell it if it's dependable. No "Buyer Beware"from me.......DOC

I have heard alot of good comments about them. Its news to me that they were made in China, I would not have guessed that.

If it shoots good and is reliable I would keep it. If you insist on selling it pick up a Mossberg 500, I liked the 20" 7 shot tube one I had for a couple of years. I paid $279 for it new.

In the next higher price range you could get a 870P. I stay away from the Express model, I got burned on a total lemon a few years ago.

Honestly though if it works keep it. I dont support buying made in China products either, but it was a honest mistake.

It's made by Norinco. Pretty much the same gun as the Hawk 982, which I own. I just picked mine up last week so I haven't run many rounds through it yet but it's been 100% so far. The H&R and Interstate Arms guns have excellent reputations for reliability. It will take most 870 accessories. I just added a Knoxx stock and forend to mine yesterday:

Would you have felt better if it said "Made in Israel"?

Notwithstanding the origin, a few things made by Norinco seem to have decent reputations. For a while the Norinco 1911's were said to be one the better versions in that price range.

You already bought it, who cares where it is made as long as it functions properly. If you want a US made gun save your money for one of these. You won't be disappointed.

Exactly what I was looking for to put me at ease about the purchase(the review). It accurately reflected my impressions of the gun.Guess I'll keep it though I over paid Dick's price of $219 + tax............. DOC
