I like to mtn bike. Right now I have an Orbea Occum.

I've never ridden an e-bike, but owners I have talked to love them!

It seems like most companies make them these days. Are you planning on just riding on concrete or trails as well? The usage will help determine which e-bikes best suit you.

I have Schwinn Sporterra NX8. Internally geared hub. I like it a lot. But they don't make it anymore.

With your choices, I'd pick the Giant Roam.

That photo made me laugh. The scribble looks like a photo you’d find in a girls HS yearbook where she crossed out people she doesn’t like.

My intent for the bike is to ride with my nephew. He’s 10 and the son of my deceased brother. He lives close by and I’d been thinking about getting a bike anyway.

Supply is limited; it appears The wuflu has lots of folks getting back on bikes.

Commute to work a few days a week and longer rides on the weekends when the weather is nice, mid March to end of Sep.

Does the daughter of the family owned business running for Wisconsin Governor as a Democrat count? Google Mary Burke. She sucked as a high level executive in the family company and thought as governor it would get her out of the way. Before she ran all the employees off.

I've been a MTB addict since my first one back in 1982. Took that one to Kathmandu and then to Karachi and then sold it. Got a custom built MTB in Tokyo to replace it. Bought a Specialized Rockhopper Comp in 1994. Got my first full suspension Trek Fuel 8EX in 2007, that led to another full suspension custom Ventana El Ciclon. Recently got a custom Niner ROS hardtail, with a set of 27.5" fat tire/rims for mud/snow. I ride almost every day for about an hour on the trails. Fortunately, its only a 5 minute ride to the trails of a local State Park.

Not on your list, but I restored two 70's Schwinn 3-speed bikes for my wife and I. We ride them several times a week. Mine is black and chrome, very elegant. I traced the serial numbers, made in Chicago. Mine has Sturmey Archer English gears, Wife's has Shimano.

I started on BMX in the '70s, was never happy with MTBs until I hacked mine into a single. Currently shopping for a steel SS.
I bought this 'Dale back in '98, it hung on the wall for 15 years until it got SS'd.
It now weighs les than 25 lbs.

After it got SS'd, before it got de-tabbed and a new coat (and a bunch of new parts):

I say who cares. So do half the companies you buy crap from every single day. You want your brain to explode try keeping up with the boycott bandwagon...lol.

As far as a bike to the OP. You really have to figure out the type of riding you are going to be doing. This is just my opinion but if you plan to venture on mtb trails at all don’t get a hybrid. They absolutely suck on mountain bike trails as they just aren’t designed for much more off-road than a dirt road ride. For example a mountain bike may not be ideally set up for pavement but it will do it a lot better than a hybrid will do on a mtb trail.

I like this right here a lot. I have a black market NSF frame and fork set in my garage that I’ve been planning to build up but I keep getting sidetracked with other hobbies and bills.

I used to be a mechanic at a bike shop. Did you know women tend to have longer inseams than men?

I rode the hell out of a mountain bike for the last few years. Then I got into jogging & lifting. I miss it though. Will probably get another bike when money is better.

If that’s not a great reason to get back into it, I don’t know what is. Spent scores of hours riding with my son. Lots of fun!
