The thread on Life memberships got me thinking. It's been a while since I sent them any money, so I just picked up the phone and upgraded to an Endowment membership. Anybody else out there do the same?

My Mother paid for my membership when I was 15. then later upgraded it to a five year membership that you paid 20% each year for five years towards a Life Membership. She figured that I was young and would be cheaper over a life time. It was about $125 for a Life Membership then. I first joined the NRA in May 1968. Then you had to have another member or some one law enforcement to vouch for you. I didn't know any NRA members at the time so my High School Math Teacher was also Special Deputy for Sheriff Office in Summit Co. Ohio signed for me. How times have changed.

I more than got my Mother's money worth but when I figured what the NRA did for me over the many years I owed them more. When I was young I wondered why anyone would pay more money than a Life Membership when you were already getting everthing.

When you get older you appreciate what others have done for you and the only way to return the favor is to do for others. I upgraded my Endowment to Patron a few years ago.

As a gun entusiast that moved to Wyoming more than 30 years ago I want to thank you and the millions of other NRA members past and present for defending the Second Amendment.:

I upgraded to Endowment as well. I also took advantage of the $200 upgrade. I've seriously thought that since I'm single with no kids that I might make them the secondary beneficiary for my life insurance as well. Mom is primary.

I upgraded to NRA Benefactor Member this year too. Even though Mass. restricts our RKBA, I appreciate all that the NRA does. I belong and support our state NRA chapter (GOAL) but recognize that change on a national level helps our cause here in Mass.

Latest example: the election of pro-RKBA Scott Brown for US Senate. Of all the negative political ads and liberal distortions by the media during his campaign, I did not see any of the usual attacks on his A+ rating by the NRA and GOAL. Now that's hope and change I can believe in.

It's pretty amazing the stuff we get invited too.

I almost went to the meeting in Washington a few years ago.

At the time Bolton was still dealing with the UN and I wanted to shake that man's hand and ask him how he deloused himself after dealing with the wretches at the UN.

Actually you're count is a bit off. The correct number is 52 altogether. :wavey:

I just upgraded to Benefactor last week. I had gotten the Endowment-Patron for $275 offer and took that, and then decided to call and upgrade the rest of the way even though it cost more that way that if I'd waited for another offer. I just wanted it done before I got back here.

See this readers? And this is the least she's done for America.

Lone? Can I start the fan club? We need more people like you.

Hell I'd make you breakfast in bed for a month if you let me.

Is my wife going to read that? I better hide her frying pan.

I upgraded from Patron to Benefactor last year. I mean if you're going to do something, why not go all the way?

Believe I'm Endowment now (and really should upgrade from there).

What does it do for me? I sleep better at night!
