So, now that I and several others on this forum have “topped out” in Amateur
Radio with the Extra Class license, what’s next?

    Is there a logical progression?

    A commercial license?

    Always looking for a challenge.

    I like that!

I can get into some Moon Bounce (EME)

That dish would look really cool in my backyard!

Just imagining that such communication is possible, reflecting off of the surface of the Moon, is a wonderful thing!

I really wish that I had the money, means and property to do such a thing!

    It's in Cuba.
Look at the silver box at the top. The Cubans just burned the Russians for a $10 million Ruble Caja China pig roaster ;)

Amateurs always looking for challenges. Try QRP modes, digital modes, ecom, operating at various ends of the available spectrum, build equipment/antenna, learn cw, try contesting, or go for awards, restore old radios, EME or meteor scatter, sstv. Satelite comms and digital hotspots have me going now. Join a club, get public service certs, get skywarn certs. Help organize local field day. Get your VE certificate and assist with testing. Help train new techs.

Back in the 80's,when I topped out, I got my General Radiotelephone with Ship Radar endorsement, and my 2nd Class Radiotelegraph. I don't think these licenses still exist, but why don't you explore the FCC website? There will be more answers there than you will get on a gun forum.

I just discovered what appears to be a good implementarion of the 'Koch' method for learning CW. It's free in the Android Play store.

You might consider trying to work some of the low power satellites with a hand-held dual band receiver and an Arrow type antenna. That is a hoot.

    See the antenna here: http://www.arrowantennas.com/arrowii/146-437.html
