Been taking a look at buying a Beta C-mag for my Colt AR-15. I just wanted to get some opinions from some folks with some hands on experience.

    Thanks,

PS I did a search and didn't come up with much.

I have had so-so luck with Beta-C Mags. About a 50/50 chance if they'll work out of the box. The ones that work, have worked rather well as long as you keep them clean and lubed. They don't last forever. We were told the Beta's we were issued were rated at 60,000 round lifespan, though I doubt any of them survived 10,000 rounds. They're well balanced... but we never trusted them.

We eventually scrapped the Beta-C Mags for the MWG Snail Drum. It's also plastic, and doesn't last forever, but they always worked out of the box. It's not well balanced, and can be awkward for left-handers... but it worked.

The Betas are not known for there reliability. I'd never pay what they are asking. If you absolutely need 100rds without a reload I'd check out the Surefire big boxes.

They look cool but as said reliability can be an issue.

I had one. after doing the graphite lube and loading 100 rounds into it I had 4 jams in 100 rounds. I sold it at a loss.

We had a bunch of them in our arms room in the army. That's where they stayed though because they were unreliable.

Had one a long time ago (check date under video) it ran flawless for the ONE time I used it. I sold it later and used the $$ for something more useful.

Buy the 60 round surefire mags, just a little longer then a standard 30 round mag, a little fatter, but they work.
