Hey guys... I just want to ask this, it can be opinion based, I don't mind. I just want to know what subcompact Glock people here prefer and why? Here are the subcompact models:

    Glock 26 (9mm)
    Glock 27 (.40 S&W)
    Glock 29 (10mm)
    Glock 30 (.45 ACP)
    Glock 33 (.357 Sig)
    Glock 39 (.45 GAP)
    Glock 28 (.38 AUTO - LE Only)

So which one is it guys... and your reasons? It could be as simple as what calibar you prefer. I'm leaning towards the Glock 33 because I love the .357 Sig round and it has the highest muzzle energy and velocity in a Glock because the 10mm and the barrel/slide is the size of a 26 and 27 instead of the bulkiness of the 29 and 30 do to the high calibar bullets.

I like the G26 - accurate and reliable. Recoil is manageable, also.

+1. Delete de 28. See no reason why would a G28 be better than a G26 :dunno:

G26 light and small, love it. G27 is on the wish list.

I believe the 26, 27, and 33 are the same size... my buddies uncle carries a G26 in his pocket holster in his pocket... never would of guessed. and if it ever prints, it looks like his wallet.

I'm puttin' my vote in for the G33. I love mine and it is a ton of power in a small package that can be carried very easily. I like the G30sf but the extra thickness really bothers me

I love the "all of the above" answer but to choose just one, my choice is the G30. You get 10+1 of 45 ACP in a comfortable frame, very easy to shoot accurately, and fairly easy to conceal.

The extra bulk doesn't bother you? My friend complains about it, he started to carry his G27 instead.

The G27 is easier to conceal but I find the 27 to be a bit more difficult to shoot accurately. We routinely exchange guns at the gun club when shooting for fun and I have shot the 27 on several occasions. My alternate carry is the G22 so I don't have real concerns concealing the larger frames (besides, I have a bit more bulk to help conceal it :whistling: ). I use a sweater vest throughout the winter months which helps a lot.

I believe that a good fitting holster with a good belt go a long way toward handling the "extra bulk" with the larger pistols.

I believe a lot depends on your body type, which influences what you can conceal and carry comfortably.

I carry IWB and to be comfortable I have to carry pretty far back. This means the butt of the glock can show when I bend a bite. So I like the short butt of the mini glocks. I also like reasonably priced and readily available ammo. That to me is 9mm and 40. So its the G27 most of the time for carry with the G26 for sometimes carry and most time practice.

I have a G26, but am considering a trade or another purchase for a G39 as it's mainly for home defense. The G26 is too big for me to carry comfortably.

Hey RickD6023. Might you have flown that bad a-- in a country far, far away in the '69 - '70 time frame. If so, perhaps we crossed paths at some point. Our 20mm's were de-rated to 900 RPM, and our 7.62 Gattlings to 3000 RPM. Wished we had yours, but they'd have torn up the aircraft :wow:

the one in the caliber you can control the subcompact with best. i personally have a 26. i'm glad this thread hasn't turned into a "my caliber is better than yours" thread.

G26 is the answer for me.

I shoot it just as well if not better than the 19 or the 17, and it is more concealable, And lighter, while still retaining the ability to accept the larger capacity mags for reloads, range, home defense etc.

I shoot 9mm faster and more accurate (124 gr +P Gold Dots) than any of the other calibers mentioned. 9mm also seems to be more plentiful and cheaper to buy, which equates to more trigger time to become even more proficient.

I'm my experience, Glocks in general are about as reliable as you could ever wish for an auto to be. So if you already decided to buy a Glock, you are already ahead of the game.

I have no doubt that my Glock is going to work when I need it most. The G26 is what I choose to count on when it comes time to protect me and my family. I can't give it any better endorsement than that.

The 26 is my favorite and I like the 27 too. I would probably like firing the 39 but don't feel like adding that caliber to my safe. I would like a 28 just because they aren't available here but if they were available here very few would sell since the other calibers totally smoke the 380 in power.
