    Title says it all.....

I'm looking for the best steak possible in the Chicago area, although I'm only willing to spend max of $50 per plate

    Thanks,

Look and see if there's a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse there. I've heard so much of them from Sean Hannity that I had to try one. I found one in DC and it's awesome... Servings are large and price range should be right around your limit...

I guess the advertising on the radio show really does work.

The Chop House on ontario between Clark and Dearborn. Gene & Georgetti near the El tracks by and franklin street (iirc), south of grand. Both are better imho than gibson could ever be.

Gibson is over rated and Magnums & Mortons downtown is equally overated.(i.e Magnum out in Oak brook Terrace is 10 times better )

Former chicagoan or actually Forest Park

I had several great meals at morton's in rosemont. Near the new rosemont theatre. I think it's cheaper than the downtown mortons.

Lot's of great places to eat in chicago.

I have friends that go to Fogodechao every time they are in Chicago and they claim it's one of the best restaurants they have ever been to.

    Fogodechao gets my vote

Didn't know that there was one in Chicago, only have eaten several times in the Dallas restaurant but at least 4 years ago. Gives me a reason to go to Chicago and take the wife for a special treat. It's not a traditional steak house but better. Thanks for the info :)

I still like Lawrey's. Even though it is more prime rib than steak.
