I want to buy a Glock 33 soon. However, my favorite local gun dealer went belly up. The few other dealers in town sell Glocks at way too inflated prices. So---I am thinking of purchasing my Glock online. Any recommendations as to where I should shop? Who should I avoid? Thanks, psyaudie
n-yuk n-yuk. Seriously give topglock.com a start. There are other onlines vendors as well. There is one I can't seem to recall but there prices seemed to be very low. You may want to do a search on glocktalk and it may come up. Also, you may want to check out the auction sites like gunbroker.com alot of glocks new and used for bidding on.
I haven't bought any online, but thegunsource.com has cheap prices and free shipping on orders over $450
What sort of reputation does topglock have? I've heard some cautions regarding purchases from gunbroker.com.
I purchased close to a $1000 with them the end of 2002 and had excellent service. If anybody did ever have a problem with them, you need to call them if you have a problem, They are more than happy to resolve any problems you may have. I personally would and will do business with them again when I'm in the market for another item. They do want repeat customers. For online/mailorder everything went smooth.;f as for free shipping, nothing is free. verify price of item + shipping, I think you wont find much of a better deal. What I've found on some deals with free shipping is you wind up paying $20 or $30 more on the item. (just a little smoke screen) All I can say do your homework, and you'll see what I'm talking about.
What is the legality of ordering a gun through the mail. Does it still have to be mailed to a FFL dealer? Plus I live in CA, so I'm sure there are additional restrictions.
If you mailorder a firearm, yes you will still need to go through an FFL. With all the costs, firearm, shipping, and FFL fees, I still saved over a $100 on local store purchase.;f Going through an FFL is legal in all respects. Doing it mailorder, auction, or internet store gives you a chance to search the best price for the firearm as well as comparing shipping cost. Looking at your profile, you would get a better discount than I would, being a civilian.;f
I actually get the Glock LEO discount at LC Action in San Jose, CA ($425 for the 9/40/357). Other than that some dealers give a 10% LEO discount on certain guns in my area. In the Bay Area, I remember I couldn't find a HK USP 40 Compact for under $799. If I recall a new Glock 17 goes for about $700 with stock sights. So you can guess that 10% off doesn't compare to out of state prices. I just noticed I paid probably at least $100-$150 more for my Kahr PM9 than what non LEO's paid out of state. Thanks for teh help
YEEEOOOOWWW!;g $700 for a G17? I paid $600 for my G35 ;f Shipping,FFL fees the lock, stock, and barrel. As a civilian, I would have paid $700+ TAX locally.;f
D&R has been around awhile. The firearms with no prices require a call for quote. I believe they tie their prices on some of their product to a percentage of cost. The cost apparently varies enough to make keeping the prices updated on the web too time consuming.
Got my G33 at Galyans. It was $494 with tax. Had a deal going where you got 10% when you got one of their in house credit cards. Also got six months to pay. This was just a couple of weeks ago.
Or email Mark Komoroski at mkomoroski@aol.com -- their Glock prices start at around $425. That's where I buy them, since they sell new ones for less than most people want for used ones.
