Looking to increase the arsenal, Aceman? Honestly, I think the best deal going right now are the Yugos. I believe they are in the $500~$600 range.

The Zastavas - I have seen those and they intrigued me, thus the question. You learned opinion is noted Carlos.

I'm just sporting a lowly Arsenal 107 these days (which thoroughly kicked the @$$ of some AR the other day at the range!)

Currently expanding the hunting tools. Not that an AK wouldn't be right at home on a Pig hunt....

I've been checking and they are all over $600 now! Don't know why, Christmas coming up, maybe?

    OP.....have you considered this?

    http://www.classicfirearms.com/long-guns/russian-saiga-iz131

It could be converted BACK to it's original AK form for less than $200 and it would not have to be done right away, so you could save up for it.

    Just an idea:wavey:

    TGG

    ETA.....

Actually, this is a great deal.....take it!

Good luck getting that price again. They have been out of stock at classic for I'm guessing 10 months now. I know because I get product emails on there out of stocks items on a weekly basis. If they ever do get them back in and list them for that price I would buy 10 to convert. I've been ordering from buds for the past 5-6 weeks. 515 shipped.

Go for it ACE. Two hours not counting dry time for finish, and 689.00 this was was my last conversion two weeks ago. Left the front, stock on this one and used an awesome rail for the first time. Warning, you can become converting addict fast !

I gave up buying off shelf, my last AK was a kit build, I got the best parts Money could buy lined up a builder
and had it put together, it unique It's kinda rare as in they never built them that way, it's an AK 74 underfolder built on a Nodak spud receiver, sure I got more money into it but it's build for what I wanted.

That is a sweet piece Dalton !! I decided this would be my retirement hobby. Got the press and most other tools on the way to do it from the ground up ! Wish I had started this hobby years ago when parts were cheaper. Nice AK indeed !

Buy another 107 from KVAR for $999. I would love one but don't see it happening right now unless I part with one of my SGL's.

My dad bought a WASR10 two years for $450, they are in the $600 range now. They are no beauty queen but they work and are a good starting place for some custom work.

Personally, I think a Saiga is a much better specimen for customizing or a Vepr if you don't mind overbuilt rifles. They are the highest quality on the market IMO.

I do agree that the 10/63's are excellent rifles for the money. My Sar1 can hang with both of my SGL's on the range.

I think the Waffen Werks are probably your best bet right now. You can find them in stock for $600-$650. I know its a 74 but the 5.45x39 ammo is still cheap and the magazines are actually available right now(and they're not ridiculously priced either).

My favorite AK are the Yugo's. My Yugo is also the most accurate AK I own and shoots as well as my buddy's Kreb's. I paid $499 for it a few years ago. They are going for about $599 around me now. Not as smooth or good looking as some of the high end stuff but it is as reliable and just as accurate. Have nearly 12,000 rounds thru it.

    My two cents.

When did lowly and Arsenal belong in the same sentence?
I would love to hear the story...
