I purchase my allergy med (Zyrtec) at Costco, and for the same price I can get 100 tablets or 65 liquid gels. Is one better than the other or just more costly to produce?

Geltabs are "supposed" to be absorbed faster. I just get the cheapest.

Buy the hundred pack of tablets.

The difference in absorption rate buy the body is very small, and influenced more by how recently you have eaten, and what it was, than by how quickly the tablets vs. geltabs dissolve.

It's mostly marketing hype, to increase profits.

Local bee pollen. More effective than drugs & other health benefits too. I cannot overstate its effectiveness for me.

I'm not sure what the costco price is, but do to a recent allergy attack I keep a stash of antihistamines on hand now. Zyrtec was good for me during the day and when I ran out of the name brand stuff, I found that the knock-off brand, $3 bottle of 100 tabs from walmart is just as effective.

My city actually has a beekeeping supply store, but you should be able to find it at Whole Foods/Health Stores. I'll bet if you google "Local bee pollen (city name)" you'll find a place nearby.

You have to buy bee pollen that was collected locally; the basic idea is to either get your system used to or overwhelm it with the allergens that are common in YOUR area, so that it stops producing the negative reactions you're trying to fight. If you get bee pollen from CA, but live in TX, it probably won't do you any good, and vice versa.

I think it's kinda like conquering your fear of flying/heights by going skydiving.... :)

It comes in little nuggets, like pop-rock/Grape Nut size. Take just a few granules at first to make sure it doesn't make you any worse.

After that, I take 1-2 tablespoons per day, during allergy season. I just take it straight; scoop it into my mouth, and have a big jug of water handy to help wash it down. I like the taste though. You can sprinkle it over yogurt, cereal, etc.

Works like a charm for me.

Locally produced raw honey... I've been meaning to try it. Supposed to work really well for some.

My allergies developed, and have steadily gotten worse, since hitting my 20's.

This - Fexofenadine. It can now be purchased over the counter at most pharmacies.

If you have constant allergies, the best thing since sliced bread is allergy shots.

The only thing that has ever worked for me, but works GREAT is singulair

My doc says in 15 years of practice, I'm the 3rd person it has worked for. "Take all my samples"

Singulair works great for me, it completely replaced my steroid inhaler to the point I carry my rescue inhaler but rarely use it-they expire before they're empty.
