I love the grip of the Vertec, but have been desiring the 92g for a long time. Both are in great condition, with the 92g being $80 less with night sights(don't know how bright). I don't have small hands, but my thumbs are a little short, so I prefer the Vertec grip.

Crap, I may end up getting one and putting the other on layaway anyway since they are both models that don't show up too often. What are your opinions?

Both, of course. :)

If you shoot better with the slimmer Vertec grip, I'd go for that one. I like the standard grip (though I'm fine with the Vertec grip), and I only use the safety as a decocker, so the 92G would probably be my pick. Assuming I would only get one of them, that is, which I wouldn't.

This^^^

If you can afford to get both and meet your other necessary financial obligations, then go for it. I know I would.

If I could find an Inox Vertec locally, I'll be in hog-heaven.

Have you tried a 92-compact?
It is just the distance from the web of my hand to the magazine release that is annoying, not the size of the pistol itself. I have no problems reaching the Vertec without changing my grip, but I really like the full size 92g.

Buy the 92g. I started with a 92fs Vertec for the first instructor class I took at the police academy. I found that I would occasionally engage the safety when cycling the slide during speed reloads and malfunction drills. I switched to a 92g and never had a problem again. I never carried with the safety engaged anyway, so I lost nothing.

Get the G + Vertec

:tongueout:

Seriously though, I think the grip is more important than the safety function. I was lucky that I found exact combo that I wanted. Well, almost exactly. But Steel I just don't show up at my neck of woods.

Also, you can always buy the Vertec first. Put the G on lay away. Once you got both, just take the G upper and put on the Vertec frame.

Sale the rest as parts or mismatch complete 92.
