Saw it on Craigslist. Got the number before ad gets pulled. Too cheap? Hot gun? Would you go for it?
I would be very careful how I went about swapping the money for the gun....
Too good to be true...
What was the description?
The 92 never seemed to have a very good resale value, for some reason, but $250 is way low even for a beater. I've never been much concerned at all buying well used pistols but for that price it's most likely some sort of scam.
Sounds pretty cheap even for a beater. Call or email and find out more about it. FTF would be the only way that I would purchase off Craigslist.
Does it come with a 5 yr old JD tractor with front-end loader?
Make sure it's not stolen.
My uncle got more for a Taurus PT92 that was decent, yet far from mint. That's a heck of price for a good gun but, I'd want to know as much as I could about that thing before buying it. With the recent number of pawn shops broken into and robbed of handguns in my area, I'd probably pass on that if I found it here.
Does not sound right to me but a friend of mine got a old colt snubbie for $300.
Sure, stranger things have happened. I always request to meet any sellers or buyers in the parking lot of the local police station. I've had two refuse, all the others had no problem, and in the case of one woman who was selling her late husband's tools thanked me for the suggestion and said she would do the same in the future.
It looks like someone is going to get a sweet ass pair of kidneys.
Weird, the seller of the 92FS texted me today asking if I want to buy his gun. I replied, yes, and then...silence.
He probably had to use it quickly and he will be right back.
I would be very careful if things sound shady for any reason. Meet in public in a crowded place. Do not meet alone or follow a person from spot to spot. You know this, but I'm a parent and can't help to say be careful.
For the past few Craigslist items I have purchased/sold I have requested we meet at one of the county police sub-stations. The opposite party was more than happy to do this for the transactions.
I always try to meet in a place as has been said like a Police station or even a place like a gun shop I can think of only 1 time I didnt do that but it was a sale at a very public gun auction/shoot type place so...
Smells fishy to me but it could be someone that just doesn't know much about guns and wants it out of their house.
I'd pass. Too good to be true...
I can get a new 92FS through our 3point5 pricing deal for $405.00 but $250.00 seems a bit low even for a used gun unless something is really wrong with it.
