I posted this int he wrong spot a few days ago. Hopefully I will get some more feedback here.

I am debating between the new Benelli R1 with the comfortech stock and the Browning BAR with Boss, both in 30-06. Any feedback would be appreciated. Sa far here's what I've got.

    Benelli -
Light weight (2lbs less than BAR)
Cost $1200 ($400 more than BAR)
Barrels interchange with ease, but are costly
Cool new recoil reducing stock system same as SBE2
Not any louder that any other 30-06

BAR Safari Mark 2 with BOSS -

    Very sexy looking gun
Boss recoil reduction with muzzle break is LOUD
Proven brand in auto's for many years
About $400 less than the Benelli R1
Many more BAR units in the field

    Thoughts...suggestions?

I have hunted the past four season with a BAR in .270 and would not take any other semi into the stand. The farm i hunt at has five BARs one has a BOSS on it, yes it is louder than hell, but it does do a lot for accuracy if you take the time to tune it well. i think you shoud go with the browning and use the extra money for good glass, a zeiss tops mine, and all i can say is wow. hope this helps.
