Glad I bought mine back when they still used Simplex. I like yours safes as well. I have one of your Traveler safes. Key opened and incredibly tough. I do wish it had a Simplex lock, but understand that it wouldn't have fit.

I see you no longer sell the Traveler on your website.

    Thanks @Haldor.

The Traveler is a great little safe and many people bought a couple and still wanted more. Unfortunately the volume just wasn’t there to be profitable. I do still have a few mounting brackets available.

Fort Knox pistol box? I’ve had one by my bed for years. Great bedside safe.

I agree completely. One thing to consider is where and how you want to mount it. Most handgun safes are predrilled on the bottom and open up to the top or front limiting your mounting options. What if you want to mount to the wall studs or your bed frame? Here's a few mounting ideas on one you drill the holes where you need them and mount in any orientation you want.

Is anybody making a spring loaded, upright-mountable simplex safe anymore?

I was just searching the web yesterday for exactly what you picture, but couldn't find one.

Yes, I do. The gas spring will open the door by itself and hold it open until you close it. All those photos are from my customers.

Got a Liberty bedside safe as a freebie when I purchased my Liberty Safe Fatboy Jr. It was a promotion at the time. It's the kind that has finger pads that are pressed in a sequence. It was great but after about 8 months it quit working.

Gunvault speedvault, bolted to the bed frame, has a G-22 inside, but my EDC is on the nightstand when not on me.

I've mounted a simplex v-line lockbox to the inside of a dresser near the bed. It can be left locked during the day and, at night, either opened or staged with most or all the buttons pre-pressed only needing the knob to be turned for access (depending on who shares the house with you and how secure you need it).

While not my current mix of pistols, you can see that it can hold 2-3 depending on selection. It can accommodate my carry pistol and a house gun for both my wife and for me.

However, I like the idea of having one pistol securely mounted closer to the bed itself as FAS1 has shown above.

Who says it has to be only one? :D

This is a Magnum Size with a 1911 in the holster on the door, but it's above the photo so you can see inside. When the door is closed it sits between these two Glocks.

I’ve got a mechanical bedside safe. With two kids it is pretty fail proof. It’s a V-line brute. I love it and find room for 2 full sized guns. I’ve always been sketched by biometric safes because they’re battery powered.... and can fail if you need them. Just my opinion

I also have this quick-access safe, but it's not bedside (but it could be).

I keep it mounted to the end table, next to the couch where I sit in the living room...

Made by GunVault. Not too expensive and super easy and fast to access.
