Have a g27 for carry..but looking for a nightstand gun with an acc. rail for a light....not locked into a caliber although i like 40 and 45....i used to have a 23....nice gun...but maybe could go full size to a 22....or i see the 30 has an acc rail but not concealing it so i could go with a bigger gun ...more rounds and heavier to absorb recoil....thoughts? suggestions?

Glock 21 and +1 on the mossberg 500, light on the 500 not on the Glock 21, but if have more than about 30 seconds to react the 500 will be what I grab.

g23 in arm's reach for 'oh **** someone's right here in the room" reaction time

rossi .38spc in a hidden holster behind the headboard in case someone is on top of me

if i have time to mount a defense, kel-tec sub2000 is right next to the glock

and next to that is the m70ab2 w/stacks of 30 round magazines

next to that is the safe..... (aka cover)

    Glock 20, 29, 21,30, 31,32, 22, 23, 17, 19 any of those will all work with a light. Oh yeah, or 37,38...plus a good tactical shotgun.:wavey:

My bedside gun is a laser max guide rod laser and streamlight M3 equipped G17 with a 33 round mag full of 147 grain Winchester Ranger SXTs.

I use a Glock 17 with a factory +2 OEM mag extension so I have 19+1 ready to go. I plan to add a TLR-1 light as soon as finances allow.

I'd keep it in the 40 family and go for a 23 or 22 depending on which fits you better.

Or you could erase any doubts/confusions/potential problems and just go with a large 357 revolver.

Maybe you should look into Claymores around the perimeter of your bed ... just in case. :wavey:

AK-47 with a 75 round drum makes a good bed side gun.......lol just kidding.....

I honestly wouldn't recommend a particular caliber, or even size of the firearm, whether it's a hand gun or rifle, the only thing I would take into consideration as far as caliber/type of weapon is your living environment, for some people, and 12 guage might be the only good option, unless you wanna be responsible for someones death 12 apartments away when you miss the bad guy first shot....

What I personally would believe most important, is what you're going to be MOST comfortable with, what firearm out of your collection can you grab and shoot immediately WITH confidence and accuracy? I do believe every GLOCK has the ability to accept lights/lasers. So I would just focus on what you're going to be able to shoot when you're suddenly awakened at 2am and you're still groggy...

G-22, or G-23 with G-22 magazine. LOTS of G-22 mags. One size ammo. Larger mags will also fit the G-27.
    It's what I depend on.
