Notice they didn't use guns. I feel safer.

And now that the news has reported the bandits didn't actually get the money the girl boasted of, the bandits will be back.

Ok, so they screwed up. Thanks to this update, they now know the proper address is 75 miles away.....as does everyone else.

I wonder if when they post up post robbery money pics she will un-friend them?

Wow, she's a real rocket surgeon, huh? It scares me how some people think (or, perhaps more precisely, DON'T think).

Noticed how polite the robbers were. They just wanted to question the girl on the money.

My dad did that and their house was robbed while they were gone. Hopefully he learned his lesson.

Sorry to hear that. I hope he did too...

Social networks have become resource material for criminals. It's sad, but true...

Some more sophisticated thieves use searchbots that scan Facebook and other social media sites for references to the area (town, county, etc.), and key words like "vacation", "holiday", "travel" and others.

From that they can screen who is out of town and when.

My point, though, is that this is all old news. Are there still people stupid enough to post pictures and info like this on their FB pages???

Guess I'm a fool for asking...never underestimate human stupidity!

Some people just need to learn the hard way, I guess.

People look at me weird when I suggest that someone should stay at the house during a funeral so someone doesn't get the bright idea to rob it. For some reason, people don't seem to realize there are bad people that read obituaries to rob people and occasionally people that got invited might decide to go to the house instead.

I was a teacher. It blew me away the stupid things kids posted. One kid posted their vacation photos and how bad she felt about the dog being at a kennel. You guessed it. Robbed by some guy she had friended just to up her friend count. Didn't even know him, but he knew everything about her. Never caught him, didn't use his real ID.
