    Hey all--

I have been playing the regular BF:V for a month or so...I found it a pretty good game; better than a lot of combat games out there, and the online play is loads better than America's Army, IMHO.

Now, if I could just figure out how to properly pilot those choppers and jets!!

Anyhow, I DL'ed the WWII mod a week ago, and it looks far better than the BF:1942 game does...I'm glad I didn't buy that one! It uses the BF:V engine, obviously, which has a bunch of rendering features not found in the original game.

Is anyone else playing this mod? I'm especially digging the Iwo Jima campaign.

    Best regards,

    FastVFR

Yeah I've played it a bit

Try the free Desert Combat mod for BF1942. Most difficult choppers there are, but I am an excellent pilot in the Apache now. I sucked bad at it, then all of a sudden one day I got pissed off and just started stabbing the keys really fast, and what do you know, thats how its supposed to be done ;f

The helos in BFV were dumbed down quite a bit.

So there IS a trick to it!

Tapping the direction keys...hmmm. I will try it.

Does that work with the Fighter Jets as well, I wonder?!

Guess I'd better go try that out!

    Thanks for the hint...

Yeah I noticed. The helos in Desert Combat damned near make you pull your hair out until you learn how to fly them.

Too true. The little bird is by far my favorite in DC because the guns are so very powerful. BFV i love flying them. The Cobra is more effective IF you have a co-pilot, but I just LOVE the hueys. I can capture many a flags hovering over it. I play on OGV, LCC and a few others..

    See you guys serverside!

why am I unable to fly anything in BF: NAM worth a crap. I use a Logitech Wingman and I have the hardest time.

And I am not a newbie, I have been playing flight games since the Commodore 64.

Any tips? New gear? Computer is plenty fast.

Maybe try using your mouse and keyboard. I know a few very good pilots who fly BFV helos with this.

I've played on OGV some. What's your screen name?

I can't even remember, I thinks its Major Major. I haven't played much since my daughter was born a little over a year ago.

I may try to get back into gaming once the new counterstrike mod is released.
