If you go to the reloading forums there are lots of Glockers that use stock barrels for reloads. A few even use lead. As long as you are careful, know what you are doing and dont push limits there are no worries with reloading.

The same could be said for lion taming, defusing bombs or shark tagging.

Why use 18th century bullets in a 21st century pistol? I know, you're cheap. Quality hard-cast lead bullets, like LaserCast, are fine but nearly as expensive as jacketed ammo. Check out prices on Rainier bullets.

I use Laser-cast 200-gr LSWC's in my G37 and G38, not because of cost, but because I'm trying to get that last bit of accuracy out of my pistols. I clean with a boresnake after each stage in a match. For practice I use West Coast 200-gr FMJ's.

Danny, you got SWCs to feed reliably in .45 GAP? I was never able to do so with my G21s and G30. The one time I tried with .45 GAP (with Rainier plated SWC bullets), it didn't work either.

What's your secret? What COL do you use? Thanks.

I'd really like to know your secret also. I've tried LSWC as well as plated SWC in my G38 with no success. I also have a G30, with a barsto barrel, and it will not feed SWC either where my G36, also with a barsto barrel, will feed SWC just fine. Go figure:hugs:

SWC's will not feed in a G30 or G36, period. Mo problem in a G21. I used Laser-Cast's guide for .45ACP and adjusted to the GAP difference. I'll have to measure the next time I reload GAP as I don't recall offhand.

In GAP I use 1.07 OAL for 200gr SWC. No feeding problems whatsoever.

Loaded 50 200gr Berry's plated SWC for my 21SF. OAL=1.215. No feeding problems whatsoever.

My SWC OAL comes from just turning over the seating die in my Dillon 45acp dies (one set up for GAP, another for ACP). I load Berry's plated RN at 1.13 for the GAP and 1.275 for ACP. I adjust the powder charge for power factor. The GAP needs 4.0gr Titegroup from my G37 to make major with the 230gr RN. Needs 4.3gr to make major with the 200gr plated. ACP needs 4.2gr to make major from my 21 with 230gr RN and 4.5gr for the SWC. Haven't check velocity from my G38 although the G38 feeds them fine also.

Funny, I can only get about 775 fps with 4.6 Titegroup in my G38. :headscratch:

Mine are 1.080 OAL & Fed. primers. Maybe I need to seat 0.010 deeper(?).

Don't know. As I said above, I haven't checked the velocity out of my G38. All my numbers are based on my G37.

I'm using 4.5 gr of Titegroup with a 200 gr plated RN and now SWC in my G38. I have no idea what the velocity is but I sure like the way it shoots and the groups it gives me on the target. Thanks again the the tip.
