Yeah Yeah I know some of you guys are gonna say something like If Gaston wanted it that way he would have done it already.....or something to that effect, but I polished my barrel and then took it to the range for 400 rounds or so and now I have an interesting spot on my barrel by the ports is this going to be problematic or just a lil lube and she'll be fine... If you're goin to tell me I screwed it just hold it in :tongueout: if you have helpful advice please share

Looks like garbage. I'll give you $28 for it.

You pay shipping and insurance. :)

Looks like powder residue etc from the ports. It doesn't wipe off with solvent? It certainly isn't caused by the polishing you did. I'll bet it was always there. It's just that you can see it now that the barrel is shiny.

My 19C leaves a little bit of residue on the barrel in the same spot. I wouldn't worry about it.

Why is it, there are always people that insist on taking advantage of others. Total crap.

I will give you $29.50 for the barrel, and pay for the shipping.:whistling:

Have you tried to clean it since then? You can't tell me you brought it home and took that picture before you tried to clean it? Either way, When your barrel was black you probably couldn't see the residue build up. Now that it's silver, you can. So, clean it. If it doesn't come out, try polishing the spot some more.

My 22C does the same thing after the barrel polishing. Non-issue, other than looks. When I'm staring down the sights, I can't see it.

Take a patch soaked with Hoppes and wipe the area/spot real good. Let the Hoppes sit on it for about 30-45mins and it should wipe off.

Like others have stated,...it's carbon residue. The polished barrel
just lets you bee it more. Hoppes will clean it, as will clp. If all else
fails,.........a tiny bit of Mothers on a rag.
