You current guys might be prohibited from posting your current badges, but you can post your 1st if you worked with a different agency. I’ll start:

Now that you mention it, I don’t know if I have a picture of my first badge. Sad.

That’s my actual badge. I turned in my privately purchased one that did not have a badge number.

No rank on that one. Only collar brass to show rank. These came out after an ego driven and poorly executed change that lead to the creation of Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The badges were solid, not pressed and looked like a juvenile French hooker designed them.

Bama Trooper, I didn’t know you were a state trooper for Alabama...too cool! Cool badges!

Our badges are nothing special. When I first started, the dinosaurs had badges with a patrolman ribbon, a different color field for the state seal and a badge number. Old but not as old were the ones without the patrolman ribbon, a red field for the state seal and no badge numbers. Ours were like that, but got the patrolman ribbon back.

Within the first month I hit the street, I traded one of my new badges with a guy who had been out about two years longer. That badge, without a patrolman ribbon or badge number lasted me until I left. It is now in my first retirement shadow box.

I left and moved away, but we moved back so I got my old job back after being gone for just 5 months(family was gone for more than a year while I lived in a small travel trailer working and waiting to get my pension). I got a couple of new badges that were the same as when I first came out, and they lasted me until I retired for good. I have one of them just sitting in a container on my dresser with our 150th anniversary badge we were authorized to wear for two years.

I was going to make a career inclusive shadow box with the badges, patches, photos, etc, but I just haven’t ever gotten one of those round tuits.

Cheated a bit, since CSUPD wore a 7-point star when I was an officer. They changed to the sun badge 5 or 10 years after I left.

Similar to this. There are 67 counties in Florida. I believe at least 57 of them have this exact style badge. The rest at least have this badge incorporated into their badge with the exception of Jacksonville (Duval county.)

I have mine in a shadow box With the service star pins and Special unit pins, etc.... I haven’t obtained a Mobile PD badge yet; worked for them from Feb17-Apr19 before I took my current paying job but I do have my Mobile County SO badge where I do the reserve thing.

I’ve always liked how all the FL SO had the same car color scheme and uniform scheme (at least all I’ve seen). In AL we have 67 counties with probably 67 different uniforms and car color schemes.

After countless years of having a generic badge, our custom ones arrived about two weeks ago. They’re growing on me.

I got to purchase my old one for a ten dollar donation to a food pantry.
