Stray bullet kills young girl First posted 01:56:43 (Mla time) December 18, 2006 DJ Yap Inquirer TWO-YEAR-OLD Christine Ordas was just playing in front of her house in Quezon City when a stray bullet fired by one of two quarreling neighbors hit her in the head, police said. She died in the hospital a day later. The girl's father, Renato, 31, told investigators that the suspects, Eric Bayawan and Jun Pajabustan, were engaged in a heated argument when the incident occurred at past 6 p.m. on Dec. 14 at 250 Liwanag St., Barangay Old Balara in Diliman. At the height of the argument, the neighbors drew their guns and began firing at each other, according to a report by case investigator SPO1 Juan Mortel. Christine suddenly dropped to the ground after being hit in the head, Mortel said. Upon seeing what happened, Bayawan and Pajabustan quickly fled, the investigator said. Her family rushed Christine to the East Avenue Medical Center, but she died while undergoing surgery at 9:30 p.m. the next day, police said. Her body was forwarded to the crime laboratory for autopsy. Who fired fatal shot? It was not immediately clear who between Bayawan and Pajabustan fired the bullet that hit the girl. Both suspects remain in hiding.
