    :supergrin:Man, what a great week!
Spent it in SW Ga at our family land, and the pre rut kicked off 'bout Friday morning w this buck followed a doe past my stand. I mouth-grunted at him, he whirled, dropped his head and ran to the edge of the stand of pines I was in.
My parents were able to relocate permanently to thier retirement house in August, and my dad has spent almost all his time since then working in the property, while mom has pert near worn herself out restoring the house.
My best friend since jr high was able to come up and stay w/ us, and he took two nice does home. I put one fat dry doe in the Family freezer, and one in my freezer here at my house.
Forgive my crummy pics, camera crapped out, hadda use a cell phone.

    Congratulations.
    When do we eat?

Already started. Fella that does our processing now does a deal called "deer bacon''. So we had blt's for dinner last night, and bacon 'n eggs this morning.
Got lotsa grind (burger) to hold us over for awhile. My kids absolutely go nuts for venison. We do tacos, spaghetti, near 'bout anything you'd use burger for, we use venison. Guess I'm a bad father, as I keep the tenderloins and backstraps for the wife and me. Bad father, bad.
We ate pork sausage till it was comin' out of our ears, as dad had whacked enough hogs in August and September to fill the freezer till Bobby (processor) would take 'm and process 'm. Friday night my mom fixed a nice pork ham, greens, sweet potatoes, applesauce. Ate like kings.
I do hope all you guys that hunt enjoy your time in the woods as much as I do.

    Congrats!

And you are providing for your kids. Heck yeah mom and dad eat top shelf.

Look, in my house, the kids don't have jobs and they don't pay the bills so they eat the burger and the parents get the top shelf steaks.

Now that they are teens, we go out and dates and bring them back Jack in the Box.

But it's awesome to hear of kids that like venison. Can't get mine to eat anything other than elk!!!!!
