This reminds of that sad story where the baby died because the parents were too busy playing a game where you raised a virtual baby :(

How exactly is this not first degree murder? Or have the penalties for 1st degree been decreased? We can have the capital punishment debate all day, but I'm definitely for it. I just spent the weekend with my 5 month old nephew, and I'm thinking she should be looking at more than 25-50 years.

I read that story with great sadness also. RIP little guy.

We could put mom's head in a paint can shaker and turn it on.

Maybe too harsh, but to me my kids come first, not a stupid computer game.

Wow... I agree with GamerGirl - this is very sad for mother, and the little one who didn't get the chance to grow up & experience life...

That article is plastered with Facebook links. I hope she likes prison. Hopefully she'll end up in solitary for quite a while and go insane, well, more insane.

This is a woman who, because of an accident of birth, is equipped with the ability to create a life. And she thinks it is a "bother".

This is the result................. It's disgusting. There is no adequate punishment.

I would say a year for every year of life she stole from that child. So in the range of 80 years sounds about right.

We may like to think that our species is at the top of the food chain here, but I cant see it. Even most animals, mammals and even insects will do anything to protect their young. The saddest part is that regardless of what punishment may be dished out, there's no guilty conscience or even a thread of humanity there in the first place, so aside from inflicting pain or death, etc, what retribution could ever be dished out? I say bury them alive in an unmarked grave and be done with it.
