AVG problem

    Puter says it a Invalid update control ctf file. AVG will not update, what do I do now?

    When in doubt, uninstall/reinstall :whistling:

    goto avg they have a fix. had the same problem. it cleans out old update and then you can add new one

    Download the latest version, run it and choose repair.

    Yep, had the same happen to me just about a week ago. I went back to Avast. I don't know why I tried AVG anyway.

    you can either remove the .ctf files from the AVG download folder, or download a copy of AVG Mechanic which does this for you (this worked for me).

    USed to use AVG, but it gives far too many false positives and misses actual threats. I ended up switching to NIS 2009, and have found it to be far superior.
