For xmas I'd like to get my father and brother both nice bottles of some sort of Cabarnet Sauvignon. Problem is I don't know what is good and what is just overpriced. I am comfortable spending up to $100 per bottle. So what's your suggestion?

$100 a bottle is way above my price range, but I like $10 to $20 cab's. You can go to www.wine.com and click on Cabernets and ask it to sort by rating, price, best selling, etc.

I asked it to list by rank (tasting scores) and saw several where you could get your giftees more than one bottle for your $100 price limit that are supposed to be very nice.

If you have a nice wine store nearby, ask them for suggestions. Our local wine shop has lots of stuff that the ordinary liquor stores do not carrry, and the guys who work there know their stuff.

How about several bottles of Bonny Doon Vinyard's "Big House" red?

Great wine for the price. Neat label. It even has a SCREW CAP, lol.

$100 a bottle for wine in a 750ml bottle? not in my budget.

you want a good Cabernet or Sauvignon Blanc, then look at Robert Mondavi private selections or for the most part all of their wines are good. Quite good and smooth with an affordable price tag. The flavor per bottle is unbelieveable & You don't have to spend alot of $$$$$s to get a good wine.

Look into some reds besides cabernets. It seems like cab and chardonay are about the only wines many people drink.

The Costcos in my area are carrying St. Francis Old Vine Zinfandel for about $13.00 or so. This is an outstanding deal, which I'm sure anyone who likes cabernet will like.

In fact, you usually can't go wrong buying your wines at Costco. Most of their stuff is very good.

    Cheers!!!;f ;f ;f ;f
