Virulent Anti-Hunter Named Humane Society of the U.S. CEO

You may recognized the name Wayne Pacelle of the Humane Society of the U.S. (HSUS), largest and best funded animal extremist lobbying group. Long known for his virulent anti-hunting views, Pacelle has been designated the next HSUS CEO and will assume that office in May. Here are some of Pacelle's personal statements and items from HSUS's website:

"If we could shut down all sport hunting in a moment, we would."

"Our goal is to get sport hunting in the same category as cock fighting and dog fighting. Our opponents say that hunting is a tradition. We say traditions can change."

"Only 7% of Americans are hunters. That means there are more of us than there are of them. It is simply a matter of democracy. The majority rules in a democracy. We are going to use the ballot box and the democratic process to stop all hunting in the United States... We will take it species by species until all hunting is stopped in California. Then we will take it state by state."
"The vast majority of species that are hunted—waterfowl, upland birds, mourning doves, squirrels, raccoons, rabbits, crows, coyotes, etc.—provide minimal sustenance and do not require population control." – HSUS Website 2003

"Waterfowl, pheasant and dove hunting are no more than shooting at living targets." – HSUS Website 2003.

These radicals must be stopped! Help elect sportsmen supportive legislators. SOAVA's website at http://saova.org has been updated to include general election endorsements and cautions for California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Texas and five other states' candidates.

All you ever have to do to put some light on these guys is ask them to quote their sources. They start stammering immediately and then in frustration they'll just name some other wacko whose more off base than them. When all else fails then they'll resort to defaming the asker. They have no real scientific basis for their drivel and they just throw out stuff to see what sticks. Gods second commandment to man, in the Book of Genesis, was for man to have dominion over creation including animals. It's been one commandment I've never had a problem keepin'. Animals can have rights when they vote and pay taxes. Till then I love all animals especially the tasty ones.

He obviously doesn't understand that we are not a Democracy, but rather a Republic! One of the differences is that a majority vote does not negate individual liberties! Not that I'd expect an "emotion ruled" moron to understand the difference.
