I haven't been around much the last year or so.
I am so sorry for your loss Jay. Sharon was always kind to me. I am so very sorry she has passed.

Thanks. It's been a touch over 3 months now & this whole thing still sucks. But I'm working on figuring it out & how to move forward. Or mix some combo of looking back and moving forward. Working on it, having really figured it out well yet.

I drive by my sisters (only sibling) gravesite several times a month. It's been 6 years and I still can't believe she is gone. I think about her every day.
Strength and prayers for you and your family VR.

If memory serves me, three to four months is where some of the numbness wears off and you actually start to feel again. Socially, people don't get that you are actually just starting to grieve. Don't think that you have to have anything figured out yet.

Just a few days ago was 5 months. Still working to figure things out. Someone pointed me towards some resources that really encouraged exercise, which helps. Big kids both are off to college on Thursday, so I have a teen to shepherd through 8th-12th grades now.

I literally have no idea how single parents of young kids cope, especially with multiple kids.

Getting emotional just writing this. I expect that will continue to happen... forever.. ? So many things that dredge up memories.

Thanks for the posts, kind words & continued support from everyone.

There's a grace they leave us with, the people we love and can no longer see. It keeps us going.

I try to follow this. Sometimes it is harder than others...

You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her only that she is gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
