Internal strife? I wondered this about the "attacks" in the other thread as well.

Are the dissidents inside Iran taking action?

Ok. Of course, the much vaunted economic sanctions did not work. The Iranian leadership did not learn how to engage in win-win approaches to problems, meaning each side gets a portion of what it wants.

Now. Think. You own a ship that is chartered to haul goods to-and-from Iran. You are aware of the sanctions. Up to this point, you really didn't care because all you had to do was change registration in a way, that the ship could not be traced back to you.

Think again. Iranian companies charter boats. You own an international chartering company. Now you can not obtain insurance at any price for a ship charter to-and-from Iran to any destination in the world. That business is now going away, permanently.

This is the way the world operates. Remember Mr. Onasis and his many ships. Not one was sunk during WW2 by either the allies or the axis powers. Tells you a lot about how the world functions.

I am betting this is internal. While the CIA and Mossad are good there have been a bunch of explosions in Iran lately. Too many to do by themselves. I could see maybe giving support or intel. "Boy it would be horrible if someone set a bomb in this location in this port because it would get out of hand fast."

Actually, 10% of the southern population is arab. They were in rebellion until a few years ago with American support. Now, they act on their own. In other matters, Saudi Arabia is having to engage in sub rosa warfare because the Iranians have started using intermediaries to attack Saudi pipelines and plants.

Whatever the controlling people in Iran have not been able to rake off directly or indirectly for themselves is being spent on projects designed to steal wealth from their neighbors, not to improve the lives of Iranians. When, another interest/country/consortium makes it clear that expansion and theft will not be on the table, that is the message being given to the Iranian top people. If you can destroy a billion dollars invested in weapons for only millions of dollars and no deaths to your side, it is very effective warfare. Piss on Ben Rhodes.

I'm thinking Israeli F-35I squadron for the enrichment plant and other facilities that they deny having. Maybe the ships were carrying something important.

Well, somebody, or somebodies, seems to be serious about making a point. The question is whether it's internal or external. Or, maybe it started out one way, and another source decided to get in on the mischief.

Not our business, though. We can just back and let nature take its course. It's not like the theocratic rulers and their in-pocket military of Iran hasn't continually worked hard to piss off lots of people inside and outside their border.

Iran has attacked multiple tankers last year, and hates just about everyone.

It's possible that nearly the whole world is sick of them. And their few allies, ain't going to help.
