And typically, I ordered a Dell Mini 9 last night when it was 80 dollars off normal price. Oh well, its just to be a travel box to remote to my real system at home and surf the web, having to spend too much time waiting for the kids.

Just read an article on the sales of netbooks which are the fastest-growing segment of the computer market esp. outside the US. The Acer Aspire One is currently at the top of the heap followed by Asus. Both companies are producing twice the number of units they expected to sell. They are literally flying off the shelves as fast as they can be manufactured and shipped.

Go to Wal-Mart's website, "mini-laptops" section. They sell about 10 different flavors of the AA1 and nearly all of them are sold out. Best buy and Circuit City put them up online and they sell out immediately to the point where they're only shown online when there is inventory to sell.

Pretty amazing. Next year the AA1 is supposed to be outfitted with 3G outside the us and with WiMax in the US.
