    Hello all:
Sorry about the TEST thread. Meant to post in another forum.
My question is: I have an asus 900 that had ubuntu 9.10 installed on it. I installed Win 7 onto it...and it seemed to work well (once I got the driver form Intell for the video). I have tried to use it but find that some of the keys on the keyboard are not registering correctly (i.e. press 'k" and get a "2" etc. Not all the keys..just the right side and only certain keys.
The computer didn't suffer any trauma such as fall or hits so I can't figure it out. Wonder if reinstalling the OS might help or ?? I tried to delete the keyboard driver but still no luck.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You have the Num lock turned on, look at the keys and you will see the numbers on them ... j1, k2, l3, etc ... Most laptops use a combination of function keys to turn it off like fn and f11, it can also be turned on in the BIOS.

good call schultz. turn that off, and the keys should function normally. They do that since you dont have 200 keys on your small laptop

    Thanks for the advice...
Will try that and see what the results are.

PS: Is bad only having 3 posts show up in your name. I had hundreds under my old name until I had to have Eric erase my account because of harassment I was getting at work over a posting. Guess I will have to start all over again.

You could've just asked for a name change, unless they knew where the thread was that was causing the harassment.

So enquiring minds want to know, what was your old name. :)

Would rather not divulge the name. The person used an innocent statement to cause problems for me at work.

Yeah, sometimes stuff like that happens... I found out thats how Washington DC got banned... He was a valuable part of this forum, I was sad to see him go. Nice guy, but someone spazzed out over something stupid.
