So I have a pretty decent astigmatism in both eyes, which makes trying to use 3 dot sights a nightmare, especially if shooting both eyes open.

Looking for some night sights to install on my 26 & 43 that will allow quick target acquisition. Still would like to be able to maintain some accuracy, not just minute of pizza pan lol.

Anybody in the same boat and found any good solutions? Any input is greatly appreciated!

Made for rapid acquisition of target, two-dot system, both eyes open, frame it - shot it out to seven yards. Defense, not bullseye shooting but reasonable at 25 yards and beyond.

I’m a huge (6’3” 260 lbs) fan of the Heinie Straight 8. I add a square of blaze orange paint to the front sight. What I like is I get to pick the size, color and shape of the painted area.
These fronts paint well since the Trit is recessed into the ramped front.
I have astigmatism as well and I’ve found some colors “bloom” too much if the painted aree is too big so I like the control I have with these.

I am not a fan of 3 dot sights so the Heini straight 8 work for me & few people have as messed up vision as I do!:freak:

With an eye condition and depending what level your astigmatism is, I would not get any night sites that had any tritium in rear. Your most likely to focus on the rear oppose to the front site. I like victors with u notch no tritium, and victors front night site. I do have an astigmatism. Imo.

I wound up putting on a set of Ameriglo CAP sights. However, the front sight post fits extremely loose. I emailed them and have not received a reply after 3 days. Not real satisfied at this moment.

I have only mild astigmatism, but I’ve found moving to a bright orange luminous front / plain serrated rear (Ameriglo Hackathorns) works better for me than any other sights I’ve tried over the years.

Try calling them - they are usually very responsive, your email may not have gotten through or they may be backed up.

I have the same condition. A recessed tritium vial blooms less in my experience. Most rear night sights do not have a recessed tritium vial. I recently experimented with transparent fingernail polish on my rear sight. It muted the blooming effect and made the front sight look brighter. You may consider this option. I've decided to swap out the sights and go with a front night sight only.

I have had pretty good success with TRUGLO TFX Pro sights. Bright front and U-shape rear notch both help make a quick pick-up of the sight picture. I can recommend these sights. g.b.

I called this morning and Myles responded via email.
looks like they are going to send me a new front sight. hopefully this one fits nice and snug.
I have installed the a AmeriGlo’s CAPs on my G19 and has the same issue, that is the front sight does not fit snugly in the hole. I assumed it was just the way they are. Please let us know if the replacement fits better.
