I have always wanted an ASP collaspable baton. But my wallet wouldnt give in to the $69 price tag. Last night a buddy at work. (ex LEO) was down on his luck. (running low on gas money) He ask if I was interested in a ASP baton and I'm like sure. I ask What are you asking for it? He replied $10- or $15. Im thinking the entire time. Elcheapo, chinese made, Cheaper than Dirt baton. He pulled out and demostrated a like new ASP brand 21" collaspable baton. To make a long story short. I gave him $10....... Now I feel bad.....

If you feel bad, and he's a friend that's down on his luck, why not give him another $20 and call it a day?

Yeah, toss him another $20 and he gets gas money and you get a half priced item. No one ends up with hurt feeling later.

I agree. That would be very fair or at least another 10.00. People will sell most anything when times get hard.

    Resale value?

They are worthless as weapons and illegal to own in some states. Other than the novelty, they have no intrinsic value.

Take a few blows to the joints and tell me it's a "Worthless weapon".

another question is if it were worthless why do LEO draw them first instead of their Tazers? Id rather be Tazed than hit buy an ASP.

    ps
I wanted it for my daily walks to ward off dogs and any other vermin 2 legged or 4 legged. Dont worry I have a more Lethal backup in my pocket called a P11 in my front pocket if needed.

    pss
Thanks for the guys that understand what Im talking about. Peace!

illegal in some states yeah, but how are you going to say they are worthless as weapons? I would prefer gettin hit with a baseball bat rather than an asp, but i agree throwing your buddy another 20 bucks would be best all around

My former department issued us the ASP for several years and I was sorry to see them taken away - the department felt too much time and money was used for excessive State mandated training requirements. They were just the thing to use when deadly force wasn't an option. By the way, treat your friend fairly . . . give him the extra $20.00 and you'll have a friend for life.

An ASP? Why that's just darling. Now a Winchester/Peacekeeper RCB - that is the only "real" expandable baton. That one works just like a wood stick.

My Explorer Sgt and me wrestled (just having fun) once. He took out his asp and lightly smashed my calf. Felt like it was shattered.

An ASP WILL mess you up.

Shattered feeling from a love tap FTW.

Amen! to that my brother. I just got finished with my every other day stick training. (yeah I train with sticks). I was whooping the snot out of the 100lb heavy bag. lol! Fun, fun, fun! I also took it to a 2x4 after a few whacks the 2x4 lost. This thing will easily break bones or worse.

    ps
I called him and told him that I would give him another $20. Thanks again. See Mossy does have a shade of red in his cold black heart.

I don't see why you feel guilty if he set the price and came to you for money. You said he is at work so he apparently has a job. I don't see the problem.

I've got one. Be sure to check the regs in each city and county, as well as the state regs. Seller told me they are legal in the entire state. The WA attorney general's office said they're legal in Washington, but he didn't know the status in various cities and counties. After some research they appear to be legal in every Western Washington community, except the city of Everett. In Everett, it may not be carried. It has to be in a closed container, so passing through Everett on Interstate 5 is fun.
