Since a select few people decided to turn my last thread into a pissing match, and veer it so off-topic it was gonna get closed, I'll ask this again, since I didn't get but 4 helpful replies.

Anyone in the last 6 months who has purchased a .40 caliber 3rd Gen Glock- have you had any issues with it, in regards to launching brass to your face, failure to feed, failure to eject, etc?

I ask this, because I plan on purchasing a 3rd Gen Glock 35, and sending it off to have the slide milled out for a Trijicon RMR.

Last thing I want, is a .40 shell casing destroying the lens on my RMR.......I plan on test-firing it prior to sending it off, however, I don't want to be stuck with a gun with issues.

My gen 3 G27 is a little older than six months.
    Was built in late 2011.

Gun has only pegged me twice in 5000+ rounds.
Can't be sure that wasn't out of spec ammo.

    G22 Gen4 and G23 Gen3 RTF2 working fine in every way.

I'll probably trade-off my older trouble-free Gen3 G35 and pick up a Gen4 eventually; I like the gripping surface and shooting qualities of the .40 caliber Gen4 or Gen3 RTF2 guns much better.

Thank you guys. All helpful info here. The Glock 35 at my dealer is a TAN-xxx serial numbered gun.

    I have a Gen 3 G27 05-2012.

I had two BTF which just clipped the right side of my forehead,(not a straight 6:00 back) in the first 100 rounds then it seemed to stop after about another 200rds. One malfunction which I think was a sticky/tight mag (had same mag in another G27 and it made a malfunction).

I know it's not a high round count or much help- just my experience so far. I'm happy as a clam with it.
Best of luck with the G35- the RMR idea sounds like a fun range shooter.

I am just over six months with a Gen 3 G22. Right at 500 rounds of pistol perfection (except for my aim). Not the first problem.

    YES......

i just traded a G23 and a G27, bought in 2011 (around jan), after 500 rounds through them both started getting blasted with BTF...

look up my "goodbye glock" thread......

    buyer beware.......

and it was not the ammo, limp wristing or crossing my eyes sideways that caused it..

and yes, i changed out all the junky-ass parts.......for more junky-ass parts, only to still get blasted in the face with brass......

    So.... GOODBYE.

Don't let the doorknob hit you on the way out.

OP, by far the majority of the problems have been the 9mm guns.

If you do experience any ejection issues, Apex Tactical should be coming out with a new extractor around September which supposedly makes cases eject much more consistently. Randy Lee makes good stuff from everything I've seen.
