A new Asian restaurant just opened down the road from us. It is a large restaurant in a building that was meant to be Ryans but I don't think they ever opened it as such. We went to try it tonight and the Hibachi was awesome and the sushi variety was impressive. My kids went over to the dessert bar to finish off the meal and came back laughing. Apparently, the Asian chefs haven't quite figured out the American desserts they were trying to recreate:

Rice Crispy Treats with green onions

Maybe it's an ancient Asian secret on how to get kids to eat their greens.

...and that's why, when traveling abroad, I always, ALWAYS eat local.

Different cultures know how to prepare their own foods properly, so as to avoid food-borne diseases. When they start trying to please westerners....you get rice crispy treats with onions. (or worse....much worse).

In China, I would much rather eat a bowl of cat stew prepared by a street vendor than a hamburger prepared in a 4-star hotel's kitchen.

On a related note, this is NOT a fortune you want to see in your fortune cookie: "That was not chicken".

I bet that's pretty good. You really think the chef just threw that together in a blind stupor? You might have a culinary genius there.

    Sound advice.

They also had banana pudding with Ritz Crackers instead of Vanilla Wafers. Didn't get a picture of that one though.

I like my rice crispy with garlic instead.
