i see a colt 1991a1 coming my way. without the 100 yrs of service rollmark. straight 8's and fs checkering and for me, it's the perfect 1911. and to be honest, it's gonna get that work at sacs. i was told by colt cs that the guy who does their custom work also does the colt special combat gov. he must be one busy fellow. i had twice or more done on the springer and it's been ready. they wouldn't let me pay in advance, which is a shame since i had the coin at the time. uh, not now. but i paid colt in advance, and it's unfinished. sent them both in at the same time. don't get me wrong. i'm not throwing off on colt. i'll plain up tell ya, i love 'em. i think he just needs some help. maybe someday i'll do a highend, but for the time being, it's original series 70's and 1991a1's with minor touches. man i love vertical cocking serrations and fmsh's. and the cocking serrations must be finely spaced. that is truly a deal breaker for me. i'd like a les baer, but that guy won't deal. must be nice to not need someone's money. i wonder if mr. wrench will do normal work; no golf balls. just your basic reliability package? i know most of yall like a lot of frills, but for me, the farther you get away from the basic design, asthetically, the less it appeals to me. sorry for the long post. it's 4 am and i can't sleep. and hey 38. dig that avatar man. way cool.
