The Secretary of public safety or whatever he is called has been really involved in this here also.

just a few days ago our horrifics governor was asked whether he would confiscate guns from citizens and he waffled on it I guess now we know

I haven't read this completely yet but some people seem to feel that it would actually ban any Farm capable of holding more than 10 rounds even if the mags are banned

meaning that unlike basically every other state you would not even be able to own a pistol that can accept a magazine of over 10 rounds

I'm not sure if these fools even know what they're writing I cannot imagine that actually passing

I can't imagine most of the rest of it passing as is that with no grandfather clause

The lazy RINOs in the Virginia legislature aren't even bothering to pass a filibuster rule.

That's why every Virginia gun owner should call the phone numbers I posted earlier in this thread, and tell the Republican leaders in the legislature to pass the filibuster before the Democrats take control.

If they hear from enough gun owners telling them to pass the filibuster, hopefully they will get off their butts and actually pass it.

Elections matter. Political party DOES matter. Those on the left are all Democrats and they DO WANT TO TAKE AWAY YOUR GUNS AMD YOUR RIGHT TO DEFEND YOURSELF. Make no mistake about it.

You do realize that the second the Dems take control, they can undo this rule change in exactly the same way the Republicans could impose it, correct?

Maybe they will, maybe they won't.

They might leave the filibuster in place, for a future time when they are in the minority again.

In any case, implementing a filibuster before the Democrats take control is better than doing nothing.

No way this crap will survive court challenge. Far less onerous gun control has been ruled unconstitutional.

This is just the left having a good ole fashioned circle jerk.

Has the NRA said anything yet?

this is going to be a wake up call to gun owners who sit out elections if they actually push this through successfully

I'm reminded of when the previous Democrat governor, Terry McAuliffe, unilaterally canceled concealed carry reciprocity agreements with 25 other states. The firestorm of public outrage after that move compelled him to restore the agreements.

If necessary, I hope to see at least the same amount of anger, outcries, and activism...

Just keep your "illegal" guns securely hidden. concealed means concealed. Maybe someday you'll be able to move back to free America if there's any America left if people keep electing Democrats.

The VA legislature is literally bought and paid for by Bloomberg. They take orders from him.

I'm afraid the gun control idiocy being considered by some of these other states is just a preview of things to come here in CO.

I kind of like the court angle. VA is in the 4th Circuit. Until now, all these states are pretty conservative. Due to tradition, that tends to carry over to the federal court circuit they're in. Maybe the 4th will take the opportunity to take a pro-2A stance on dealing with laws the new VA legislature looks ready to pass. If this is the case, and the liberal circuits do otherwise, we may get circuit precedents in conflict. That's the type of situation the SCOTUS tends to resolve. Maybe this will get 2A cases on their docket.

Incredibly, even I left Maryland 20 years ago to move to VA it was largely to move to a red, pro-gun state .

Ironically, soon MD will be way better than VA.

One a law is passed, there's no guarantee that it will ever be overturned in court.

That's why it's so important to stop gun control laws BEFORE they pass.
