It may be unproven, but honestly, after Iraq, and seeing how the soft armor in our IOTVs DID NOT stop shrapnel effectively, I'm glad the Army is lightening our load. I'd rather sacrifice a small amount of protection for mobility.....there's a reason why ODA and Rangers wear Plate Carriers......:faint:

As for unproven, a Plate Carrier is a Plate Carrier AFAIK....:dunno:

As for unproven, well, found out today this is what we're getting RFI'ed when we arrive in theater soon, but in Multicam. We're getting all-new Multicam uniforms, pouches, and gear, to include the Plate Carrier. Thank Goodness! Actually shouldering your weapon with the IOTV or the bulky IBA is cumbersome as hell.

things are already looking up, now you should petition your Sgt Maj to build a White Castle at the FOB and you'll be set

Taliban isnt shooting 9mm and when something goes boom it goes big usually, so I think the PC isnt a bad idea. Oh and building a FOB has its good too, did it once in Iraq and once the work the work was done we realized that having a small fob meant that the brass didnt get to high around us, just company commander in our case. So you get to be a lot more practical and not worry about your boots being bloused so darn much.
    Kepp your head down brother.
