I want a good ak. Right now I am planning on the arsenal sgl 21 series. All I am wondering is it worth the $715 I am gonna pay for it?

Investigate the differences between the SGL20 and SGL21 series. If I'm not mistaken they're identical except that the 20 does not have an accessory lug. Someone who knows more than I can jump in and explain the ramifications but I'm pretty sure it's trivial. I mention this because the SGL20 is a few bucks cheaper. I have one and am extremely pleased with it.

I have both the SGL-20 and the SGL-21. Only minor differences. Accessory lug on the 21, receiver covers fits a little lower on the 21, different style of numbers on the rear sights.

I would get whichever is cheaper or in better condition.

JG, you can't go wrong with an Arsenal. I have their Bulgarian slr107fr,and the sgl20-41. I did'nt want ta spend a hundred more for an accessary lug.
Not sure how hard it is ta get the 20 though. K-VAR seems ta still be out of stock.Good-Luck.

I would be fine with the 20 but k-var is still sold out so I am going with the 21...

Arsenal Bulgarians were worth the $900 they were going for before wackiness set in. Those are every bit as good. Hit it!

Agreed, they're worth every penny and then some! Some of the best put together AK's that I've ever seen, I love mine.

I lucked into an absolutely NIB SGl-20 at an auction for $450 and am very pleased. The rubber grommet was still on the cocking handle. Also picked up an SLr106FR and am very satisfied with Arsenal quality
