    I remember the old USSR, the evil empire. I watched LBJ placate, Nixon/Ford try detente, Carter appease and Reagan say we will destroy them. I grew up in the 70's and 80's under the threat of MAD and 30 minutes until the world ends. You deal with it and go on. I watched the west prosper and the socialist/communist world fall further behind in every area of humanity. I remember the news reports and testimony of escapes and those who were fortunate enough to get released talk about the wonderful death camps that socialism/communism practiced, called gulags.

    The hundred million people who died because of this spirit crushing and evil ideology and yet western leftist still pine for it. Our public schools are producing the first generation fully indoctrinated as to how wonderful socialism/communism is, conveniently forgetting to mention to these kids the misery and death that always------ALWAYS follows in its wake. The question I want to ask this generation is simply existing with barely a roof, the basics and food enough for you to give up your freedom, to have an opinion, to think for yourself, to dare express your opinion without fear of retribution, is it enough to give up any chance of ever bettering yourself and your children? If it is then communism is for you boys and girls.

    I remember the "better Red then Dead" movement of the early '80s. I was part of the OP that took and secured the old stuff out of NATO for the new Pershing-ll's and GLCMs.

    They were a bunch of meat head Hysterics, financed by the Reds, whom literally wanted NATO dissolved and disarmed because they thought it better then the nuclear war they considered inevitable. And when the Soviet Army came rolling by they would have been out throwing flowers, Europe has always been a Den of Leftist subversives most of whom were just bored house wives pushing their strollers who were easy to scare. But some were dangerous and all were stupid enough to believe Soviet propaganda.

    And there was a lot of them. The movement was particularly strong in England of all places. Their children are the ones destroying Europe today and even America is under their spell to a point. A bunch of chubby well fed kids playing at revolution, despicable.

    You see I lived in a real Totalitarian Police State under Military rule and I never forgot the Lessons learned.

    Read Heinlein’s “Farnham’s Freehold”.

    Very politically incorrect.

    Yes I do, in fact I was born in Cuba and my family was able to come to the U.S. for one reason - FREEDOM!

    As far as I am concerned, anyone that considers/aligns themselves as a Communist/Socialist is simply a Piece of Dog Feces!

    Buddy of mine's dad was a project supervisor to build a oil refinery in the USSR back in the early 70's. Long story but the readers digest version;

    They used Bechtel engineers but were req to use a Russia workforce- 300 men. On any given day they would start with 200-250 men...but then after lunch they had at most 50 guys on the job. Seems they would rather drink at the bar...since they got paid whether they worked or not.

    Thus the reason why socialism collapses; You get paid either way...so let the other guy do it....and nobody does it!

    The project was so far behind Bechtel threatened to shut it down....a couple days later a group of armed thugs [mafia?] broke into the compound with 18 semi trucks, held the few security guys at gun point and stole all of the equipment.
