Do you consider yourself pretty hot with a firearm?

Can you face an armed criminal with confidence?

Im not an operator, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

And yes I feel confident enough in my skill with a handgun to face down a thug if I have to.

I can do this thing where I reload the whole gun at once with a clip that goes in the handle.....not one bullet at a time like other people.

Im confident enough in my abilities that I can do what needs to be done. But an 'operator', no.

I'm such a bad ass operator I can cock the hammer on both of my Glocks...

Seriously tho, I feel I would be very proficient with all the firearms I own to defend myself from your run of the mill thugs. Now tangling with a SWAT team or squad of SEAL's is another story.

I would be a fool to view myself as such.

I know my way around a pistol, rifle and shotgun. But "operator" - not a chance.

    I was an operator.

Phone calls came in and I redirected them to the correct party.

I want my lasers to form a solid red rod all the way to the target so I can call it "the kill zone" but all I get is a dot on the target. Ads lie.

I have been before. We've mainly done away with operators these days as I've managed to streamline a lit of processes. We used to have a day and night time operator... now our Helpdesk does operations duties at about 1/4 of their duties.

Oh, and I'm pretty confident with my guns. I'd probably piss myself if I was being shot at though.

I thought everyone on GT was special forces with additional advanced SWAT training.

My guess is that most of us here can shoot pretty decently. But how many have had tactical training? If you haven't, how would you know you will be ready? Or even what you will do in that situation? I know enough not to draw my weapon if the BG has the upper hand, ie, his gun in my face. I don't have a death wish. Most armed robbers are just out to get some cash, I'd be glad to give up whatever I have on me to avoid escalation, unless BG makes a mistake and I get the upper hand, or I feel that shots will be fired imminently. God I hope none of us has to face that situation. Although once the gun comes out, I am shooting. No, I am not going to take a shot if the robber is already fleeing.
