I saw this in a magazine ad today. Is it an AK pistol? Seemed like a good price, but I know nothing about them.

Good for burning up ammo is about all. Hard to carry concealed.

They're pretty silly, in my opinion, but to each their own.

Of course, I'm not a fan of the standard AK, so I'm probably a poor judge. ;)

I've got a 300 blackout pistol with one of those braces, if you put it on your arm you cannot bring it up far enough to see the sights. I don't know what the final say is on shouldering them. But I will continue to do so with mine. as for as the gun it self, I do agree it will put out a considerable fireball when shot, but with a 20rd mag it might be okay for concealed carry. I think the 300 black out makes a better pistol. It burns all its powder up with-in a 8 inch barrel.

I think "pistols" like this are a waste of time.

I think they look great in movies or on TV. Otherwise, I have no use for one. Unless it's fully automatic. But that's not going to happen.

If I ever needed to clear the deck on a vessel while simultaneously disabling the boat I could see a use.

Otherwise, not so much. They are short distance range toys, just like most other short semiauto wannabe M5's.

The "final say" is that shouldering a brace turns the gun into an NFA item.

So basically they are a novelty gun, unless you put a stock on one is the consensus. I guess it then becomes and SBR then and you need a stamp?

I had one of the Draco's and sold it during the gun rush a few years back. It was a novelty item that could burn up lots of ammo and you could forget about any accuracy. It was one of my lessons in what not to buy.

    Correct on all counts.

As a pistol, they're barely half a step up from worthless. After you get a tax stamp for it and put on a folding stock, they make fun little blasters. Not what I would use for a defensive role, but they're reliable and accurate enough to fill the role (loud, though!).

If that is yours in the post above that thing looks sweet. I would just buy it for a range toy... nothing too serious.

They are grin inducing flame throwers. While they aren't practical, I wouldn't call them useless.

    "Are these any good?"

It depends on what you mean by "good".

If you mean "practical"? No they aren't practical. While they are accurate and carry a lot of rounds, they are far too big to carry, except maybe in the car. They have a tremendous muzzle blast/flash and ear shattering noise, making them impractical for car or home protection.

If you think owing a gun just because it's fun to shoot, is a good enough reason for owning it, then yes this type gun is "good".

I have several rifle caliber pistols that a number of people have shot. The guns always put a big grin to the shooter's face, man or woman.
