Are there any websites with instructions for cleaning/quartering deer and hog?

    Im looking into day hunts for hog this time of year and Ive cleaned and quartered a hog before but it was a long time ago and dont remember the details of it. Any websites that offer this information?Thanks for any info.

    look on the left hand side under "How-To's"

    that's how I learned to field dress.

    Just recently field dressed a hog the same way.

    There is also a link for butchering.

    You can also goto your local USDA extension office...they have (or can get) a nice booklet on butchering deer.

    On a side note, I recently ordered some videos from Cableas on field dressing,skinning and butchering deer, and the guy on there recommends NOT splitting the pelvis until you are ready to butcher it (as opposed to while field dressing it)--- he says it allows dirt to get on the meat on the drag out and also since the skin gets pulled back, the meat dries out and you have to cut it off, so better to laeve it alone
